The Anger Process |
Anger is a pretty big subject Become aware of your feelings, those 27 emotional reactions every hour. The signs that are letting you know that you are starting to feel angry. Changing your state, your physical state. Changing your thoughts, what you are focusing on or thinking about. If the anger has already built up doing something to move the energy in motion through whether it is beating on a pillow or slamming a door. Somehow moving that energy in motion through, writing a letter. Also, taking care of yourself, loving yourself. Loving that emotional inner child self, if you would, so that you take good care of yourself and honor your own boundaries. Because most of the anger that we experience is when we think that somebody has reached in and taken something from us. They take our time from us when they create a traffic jam on the expressway. They take our honor from us when they say something disparaging about us in front of other people. We feel some kind of violation, some kind of a loss in that boundary that we all have around ourselves that is our attempt at taking care of ourselves. So, when you feel that sense of violation of that boundary, it is critical of you to take care of yourself. Love yourself, deal with the energy involved. Move the emotion through in whatever is a healthy, respectful, and safe way so that it doesn't become violence. So, those are some key points for dealing with anger in your life...
