I would like to share with you,what exactly is SOFT SKILLS
and why are doing so much hard work for this? Well,when I was in 10th class,I
used to be a shy girl I used to have many thoughts in mind,but I was not able
to express it. Then I joined a course of Personality Development. And I found a
new ME,as if it was a new birth of mine. I became so CONFIDENT that I started
expressing my ideas in front of everybody EFFECTIVELY. That day I decided,that
I will also become a soft skills trainer,so that I can also make people
confident and will transform them into a "DYNAMIC PERSONALITY" You
will be amazed to know that, to get any job and to get SUCCESS in that
job,requirement of Soft Skills is 85% of the total skills. rest of the 15% is
our Hard Skills or Technical Skills I have been training Engineering students
on Soft Skills for over 7 years now, & sometimes I feel so strange to know
that that these students focus only on their academic for all 4 years of their
Engineering all the time they wonder how to score good marks in their
examinations But when there is Placement time,at the time of interview they get
so nervous because they do not know what to speak and how to speak in an
interview? Many people think that Soft skills only means English communication
in real,English communication is part of Soft Skills. SOFT SKILLS is basically
a cluster of many attributes of our personality, Like our ATTITUDE,that is very
important to keep it positive. our behavior,means how we need to behave
professionally? our communication,not just spoken one but L,S,R,W means one
should have excellent listening skills,speaking skills,reading skills and
writing skills Only in that case you can say that you have good communication
skills apart from this your etiquette,presentation,manners and many more
attributes are there, which one should have in their personality in order to
have over-all development. and usually students are not aware about this all.
So what I do,I start providing soft skills training to the students from 2 year
onward of their Engineering program so that by the time they reach to the final
year, they can have that confident personality with which they can express
themselves You think yourself,that there is a student who score 90% marks, he
does lot of hard-work all the 4 years of his Engineering and because he is not
able to express his thoughts and ideas at the the time of Group discussion and
Interview and as a result he does not get qualified for that job, while an
average student who has scored average marks, he gets selected for that job. I
literally found these topper students to be very upset,since they could not be
selected for job due to LACK of SOFT SKILLS. so make sure you get very well
versed wit Soft skills before you actually need them,so that you be ready for
all kind of opportunity. students feel that they will mug up few questions a
night before interview like " tell me something about yourself?" or
why should I hire you? or then again for what reason would you like to join
this organization? students think that they will mug up these questions and
they will get easily selected but let me tell you my dear students,you all
require to PRACTICE a lot, as we realize that training makes a man flawless. we
require to have lot of practice for Group discussion and interview, and to make
our ATTITUDE-POSITIVE which is most important to tackle any situation.Trust me
whenever I had a word with HR of the companies they all told me same thing,When
I ask to HR ,what do you look for in a fresher, they say these two things are
most important in any fresher which they would like to hire. first is POSITIVE
ATTITUDE and second is communication,ie they should be able to express
themselves rest of the skills like grooming,team building and many more,
students learn themselves when they join a firm but it is very important to
have positive attitude in advance. Now question comes,what is positive
attitude? We get our attitude from the place we are born in,the kind of friends
that we have, kind of parent we have,kind of schooling we have and all these
things together make our attitude. Whenever I conduct mock interview I
definitely ask this questions from the students Tell me something "good
" about yourself or tell me 10 or 5 strengths of yours. and I find it so
amazing to know that they do not have anything good to tell about themselves or
when I give them any situation and try to know about them through a situation
reaction test I get to know that they know very little about themselves We all
are connected with each other through many social sites,like
Facebook,twitter,Instagram,whatsapp but to be connected with our own-selves,
neither we have time,nor we try...
